15 Second Summary	Katsura is the dryad of a 54 year old katsura tree (Cercidiphyllum japonicum)! Around age of thirty or so, they started to realize humans have complex languages and can communicate abstract ideas to one another. Most dryads think this is nonsense, and that dryads are the only truly intelligent species. Katsura's odd views meant that they didn't really have any close friends among their kin. Once Katsura figured out that humans were communicating with one another, they decided they wanted to learn to talk with them. They grew a human-ish body for themself; this process took about a year to fully develop. They then spent a number of years learning to inhabit the body, to mimic human body language, to breathe and form sounds, and to speak. It takes a lot to rile Katsura up, though when they're riled they can be extremely firm and stubborn. They have a lot of curiosity about everything in the world around them, and love to taste, touch, see and smell new things. Only in the last few years of their life has Katsura actually tried to interact with humans. They're not... the worst at it? But they're still learning. They're just... a quiet, curious, adventurous person who is also a tree.
Abilities & Permissions
Abilities	Katsura has a life-energy sense and an empathic sense, but the life-energy sense works way better when they're in direct contact with their tree, so it is absolutely OPT IN if there is something off or absent about your life energy and you want Katsura to notice. Just. Lemme know. The empathic sense specifically only works with dryads, as far as Katsura knows, but again I think it can be opt in, if your character starts getting emotionally close with a smol tree and you want to start having random bad-phone-line bursts of empathic readings happen I am all up for that just drop me a line. Also they can shapeshift.
Permissions	I'm open to playing out most things, but please contact me if there's going to be violence heavier than punching or for anything we'd want to move off comm!
Sensing	Katsura's "human" form pings as "tree spirit" to anybody sensitive to such things, and their tree (which is in one of the tree clusters in the Courtyard) pings exactly the same, as it is in fact also their body.
